For parents and teachers
Most math games pick times-table questions at random, so nearly half end up as × 0, × 1 or × 10. Math Range leans on the ones kids get stuck on: 6 × 7, 7 × 8, 8 × 9, 12 × 7.
From 4th grade on, the standards turn to paper and pencil methods. A game shouldn't, so older kids climb in mental math instead: friendly numbers, rounding and fixing, zeros on the end. None of it needs paper.

Miss one, and the right answer stays up on the can for four seconds: Remember this one. Walk away from a problem to fish for an easier one, and the gun overheats for five. It's quicker to just try.
Every answer is remembered, fact by fact. A missed 7 × 8 comes back a few cans later. Facts your kid knows cold fade out of the mix, then come back now and then to stay sharp. It always stays at the grade you pick.
